1. Introduction
2. Setup ABC Torrent Client
3. Downloading with ABC
2. ABC Bitorrent Client Installation & Setup
After downloading and installing ABC Torrent Client Double Click on the desktop icon to run it. To get it to work safely requires some setting up, it will work out of the box but will hog all your bandwidth given a chance.
1. First you need to create some folders for ABC Bitorrent to use as default folders for downloading and uploading files. First open your My Documents Folder and create a new folder called "ABC Torrent"

2. .Next open the Bittorrent Folder you just made and create 2 New Folders in it called "Completed" and "Downloads". These will be used by ABC exclusively and set so nothing else is exposed than the files you wish to share. Everything downloads into the "Download" file by default and can be moved into Completed when finished if you want to share it at a later date.
3. Close down to desktop, start the ABC client by clicking the desktop icon, you will see a small box as shown but to use it you have to do a setup so click on "File > Preferences". When you start ABC it will ask for internet access, whatever firewall you are using will ask, allow it to contact the internet as a client and server (just tick yes for anything to do with ABC) we can tweak it later, for now it just needs to connect to the net.

4. OK this is the first preferences screen, it should look like it does here, if not adjust it so it does. The upload limit rate should be set to 50% of your total upload bandwidth otherwise you will not be able to do anything else because ABC will take all the bandwidth it can get. For a 1Mb cwgsy standard connection the total upload available is about 26kb/s so set it to 12Kb/s.

5. Next select "Seeding Options" This is all optional but the more you seed the faster your download rate. Seeding means uploading parts of the file you are downloading. Once the file is complete you can shut down ABC but this is not polite you should keep it going till you have uploaded 100%. Your total Upload / Download ratio determines your download speed. I do not advise using Unlimited but you can set a time period or %age - I use this option.

6. On the Queue settings match the following.

7. Next the Timeouts should be set up as follows.

8. Network Settings - Exactly like this - should default to this anyway but check it.

9. OK this is where you set up the default folders you made in step 1. Tick the "set default download folder" box, click on the three dots box on the right of this to open the "Browse For Folder" dialogue box. Navigate to My Documents > ABC Torrent > Downloads. Click on the Downloads Folder to highlight it then click OK. Now all files are downloaded to this folder.

10. Same again but this time for the "Clear Completed" moves files to: and select "Completed" this time.

11. Finally go to the Misc Settings and match the following settings - Thats it click on OK to get back to the main ABC Application, it is now ready to go.
