Conficker / AKA Downadup Worm Removal Tools

If you think you have an infection there are several tools to clean it out available, check Windows Secrets out for more information on the worm and the signs of an infection. If you cannot use the links on Windows Secrets to get the removal tools they are zipped on my website but you download and use them at your own risk . If you are worried or not willing to do it yourself contact me.

The parent websites for these tools are blocked by the Conficker worm so I have zipped and uploaded most of the free available tools all from the security firm's websites. Download the file below, double click to extract the contents then open the folder.

Find this first "MSFT Malicious Software Tool" and open the folder then run the exe

Next to make sure run any two of the rest of the tools, the basis for this is there will be many varients so theoretically running tools from several security vendors gives you a better chance of removing all traces.

Reboot the PC and you should be OK, open your browser and see if your homepage comes up OK then try this link

If that link fails but your homepage was OK then you probably still have an infection, try repeating the removal process but this time use different tools.
